Pushing for international integration to respond to challenges in industry

11/19/2018 |<img src="http://www.ik4.es/upload/noticias/img/img_mfig.jpg" data-link="" /> The industrial sector is a key activity area in the economic progress of developed nations that is facing important challenges, such as competition from emergent powers and technological demands.

In this sense, in 2017, the British government launched a new industrial strategy that focuses on certain priority sectors, strengthening public-private partnerships. One of them is the field of manufacturing, where a radical change from previous policy is contemplated, to strengthen the collaboration between domestic as well as international companies and R+D+i agents.

To call attention to this new strategy and analyse the opportunities for bilateral cooperation it offers, the United Kingdom Department for International Trade, through the British Consulate in Bilbao and with the support of IK4 Research Alliance, have organised a seminar next 27 November, to start at 16:30, at the Yimby centre in Bilbao. The programme mainly addresses the business world and research and knowledge institutions from the north of Spain.

The encounter will deal with some of the technological capacities related to advanced manufacture, under the guidance of experts from the field such as IK4-TEKNIKER director general, Alex Bengoa, who will speak on behalf of the centres comprising IK4.

The forum will include a section devoted to describing opportunities in the sphere of compound materials or composites through interventions by the representatives of different British and Spanish institutions and companies.

This is an open event free of charge, for which participants may register up to the 22nd of November HERE.
