What to do if Windows 10 won't start because of the srttrail.txt file

Method 1: Disable the recovery tool
When some kind of system failure occurs, the subsequent restart of the computer will, in most cases, run the built-in recovery tool. However, in the event of an error caused by a file "SrtTrail.txt", causes the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). In such situations you should try to disable the automatic start of the recovery tool.
- Connect the drive with the recorded Windows 10 operating system to the computer / laptop.

bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No

- After that, close the utility window and click "Keep going". in the next menu.
- This time the system will boot normally and without errors. If you need to reactivate the recovery tool, run "Symbol of the system". as administrator and run a command like this:
bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled Yes

Method 2: Restore the bootloader
Sometimes the system gives an error with a file "Srttrail.txt". due to a corrupt bootloader. In this case you should try to update the bootloader configuration repository and update the boot record and boot sector.
- Follow the first six steps outlined in the previous method. Your goal is to run "Command line"..
- In the utility window that opens, enter the following commands one by one. Do not forget to press "Get in" after entering each of them for processing.

Method 3: Restore Registry Keys

Method 4: Disable ELAM
ELAM (Early Launch Anti-Malware) is a type of antivirus protection that runs while the operating system continues to boot. From time to time you may think that the driver files are dangerous, leading to an error "Srttrail.txt". In these situations, try to disable ELAM.
- Restart the system. During startup, press "F8". These actions should bring up a menu with different boot options. If you can't do this for some reason, boot from the install drive and call Command Prompt.. In it, write and process the following command:
bcdedit /set {globalsettings} advancedoptions true

Method 5: Check system files and components
The latest version of the operating system has utilities that scan system components and files, automatically correcting errors if they are found. To apply the method, you have to do the following:
- The first thing to do is run the system in "Safe Mode".. Since the error with the file "Srttrail.txt" does not allow you to log into the operating system in the normal way, you have to boot from the installation drive, run "Symbol of the system". and process the command specified in the previous method, then perform a system reboot.
- In the boot mode selection window, press the key. «6». The system check is also performed in "Command line".but it must be run directly from the OS and not from the installation media.
- In the plug-in window that opens, use the command
sfc /scannow
. It takes time to process. It is important not to shut down the service before the check is complete. - When the operation is complete, process another command:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- The procedure is even longer than the previous one. When finished, do not close "Command line".Otherwise, the system can only be physically rebooted. Instead, run the command
shutdown –r
. - During the reboot, a window will reappear with the launch options. In that window, just click "Enters".. Once logged in, call Command Prompt. as administrator. To do this, just click on the search icon, enter the query
cmd
and select the option shown in the screenshot with the numbers 3 and 4 of the results. - In the window that appears, run the command
bcdedit /deletevalue {globalsettings} advancedoptions
. - The boot choice window will no longer appear every time the operating system starts. The error associated with the file "Srttrail.txt".
