Set a permanent password in TeamViewer

Set a permanent password in TeamViewer

Started automatically every time TeamViewer is started, the password change operation that opens access to the PC is intended to increase the level of security for the user and their data. However, if the program is used on a regular basis, this function can hardly be described as convenient, and some models of the system's operation when the "key" is changed are unworkable. This is why TeamWeaver developers have made it possible to set a permanent password required to connect to an individual computer, and the article discusses two ways to assign it.

Method 1: Personal password

The simplest way to establish a secret combination of characters, entering which, together with your PC ID in TeamWeaver on a remote device, you can access the control of the first through the service in question, will require only a few clicks of the mouse in the program for its implementation:

    1. In the main TeamViewer window, in the area "Allow control." place the mouse cursor in the field that shows the password generated by the program.

    1. Click the rounded arrow that appears to the right in the field with the secret character combination.
    2. Select the item "Set personal password" in the menu that appears.
    3. Alternatively, you can proceed to setting a permanent password by invoking the function "Advanced".when opening "Options"

and clicking in the next window on the left on the name of the options section "Security"..

    4. In the window that opens. "TeamViewer Options". fill in the two fields of the area "Personal password (to access without confirmation)". That is, think twice and enter a secret combination of characters that will be used as a permanent password to access the PC on which the operation is performed.
    5. Click the button "AGREE". to complete the current procedure. The above combination of characters can now be used to log in to control your computer through TeamWeaver along with the permanently system-generated password.

  1. If you decide to change your personal password in the future, repeat the above instructions, entering the new combination of secret characters and confirmation in the corresponding fields as if you were doing it for the first time.

Method 2: Easy Access

A more versatile and customizable solution when configuring TeamViewer to be able to start remote control sessions on a specific PC without having to enter a new password each time is to use the "Easy access".. Use this feature to quickly and efficiently connect to a personal computer or to several of your devices.

  1. To enable the function in question, a TeamViewer account will be required. If an account has not yet been created, please register in the system as follows:
    • Click on "Log in". in the main TimWeaver window.
    • Click on the link "Record"..
    • Put your mailbox address in the box "Email / username"..
    • Think about and enter in the corresponding fields the password that you will use to access your TeamViewer account in the future.
    • Click the button "Keep going"..
    • Now click on "Full"..
    • Then go to the mailbox specified as the registered mailbox in the way you prefer and open the email "TeamViewer account - confirmation email".
    • Click on the account activation link in the email.
    • This completes the creation of an account on the system that provides remote access to your devices, it is not necessary to log into the service site of the resulting web page.
  2. Essentially, by having a TeamWeaver account, you already have a permanent key - a combination of your username and password - to log into the computer where it is installed. It only remains to enter the program and activate the option in it "Easy access".:
    • In the main TeamViewer window, click "Enter the system.".
    • Enter your account details and click "Start the session." in the email and password fields.
    • When you finish connecting to your account, go to the program tab "Remote control"..
    • Check the box next to the option "Facilitate access"Then TeamWeaver can be minimized: the system is fully prepared to continue operating without the need to enter a changeable password on the devices from which the connection is initiated.
  3. To take advantage of the now feasible method of gaining remote access, follow the steps below. For example, below we show the work on the desktop version of TeamViewer, but by analogy you can control your PC also using the mobile version and the web interface of the service.
    • Launch TeamViewer on the PC from which you plan to control the remote device. Click on "Enter the system.".
    • Enter your account details and click the login button.
    • The first time you try to access an account on a given device, you will be prompted to make it trusted: click "AGREE". in the window showing the program.
    • Then, by any method and from any device, open the mailbox used as login in the service, go to see the letter "Device authorization required." and click your text on the link "Add to the list of trusted devices"On the web page that opens, click "Confidence"..
    • Then go back to TeamWeaver, re-enter your account password in the service, click "Start the session.".
    • After successfully logging into the program, go to "Computers and Contacts".
    • Click to expand the list "My computers.", double-click the name of the device you want to connect to.
    • That's it - how to remotely control your PC via "Easy access". in TeamViewer it is open.

The article considers two methods to provide remote access to an individual device through TeamViewer without having to enter a different password at the start of each session. Undoubtedly, the proposed approach is convenient and increases the efficiency of the use of the considered system, but one must not forget the need for password security and the inadmissibility of its unreasonable provision to other people.
